If you’re looking for bespoke or custom-made furniture, crafted in Zimbabwe by a team of expert craftsmen, look no further than Revolta’s Roots.  The Company was founded in 2015 by Andrew Revolta who has over 30 years of experience in the furniture industry, and has grown over the years to become a 40-person operation with design team, carpenters and manufacturing being done in our Ruwa factory located 20 km outside of Harare.

Our company is experienced, but small and versatile enough to ensure every customer receives a personalised service, allowing time to understand your needs, whilst discussing design, materials, finishes and ultimately ensuring a high degree of satisfaction.

We work with a number of different woods and board, most sourced locally. These include Teak (Baikiaea plurijuga), Mukwa (also known as Muninga, Kiaat or Pterocarpus angolensis), Saligna (Blue Gum, Eucalyptus globulus), and soft woods like Pine.  All are inherently beautiful, with the grain in each different to another….we work with the design team and client to identify and accentuate this beauty and where possible to position it within the finished product.  Similarly we see appeal in the durability, colour and smell of the materials and will work with our clients to ensure these attributes are maintained long after the product leaves the factory.

The furniture we produce has been supplied into hotels, lodges, guest houses, commercial offices and homes.  Our products have found pride of place in dining rooms, lounges, entertainment areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, and corporate boardrooms.  

For many of our clients there is appeal in being able to work with us to customise the design of a product.  They also recognise our commitment to ensure the finished items are safely delivered and installed, and that should they need it we are on hand to help with maintenance and refurbishment.  All product comes with a 5-year warranty.

We understand the growing importance of Sustainability to Zimbabweans and our community – where we can we use sustainable materials and aim to work with our suppliers to ensure any wood has been certified as grown from managed plantations. This is an ongoing challenge in the local industry.  We are members of the Furniture Manufacturers Association and are proactive in working to improve the approach to sustainability across many parts of the industry – from reviewing the wage and benefit structures that exists, discussing access to training for new and existing employees which will ultimately enhance their own prospects, or in the way we are thinking about health and safety to reduce the incidence of injury or accidents at work.
